DIY Musical Tesla Coil Plays Star Wars

Game over for those who think that they reign supreme when it comes to playing around with Tesla coils.

While so many cool things have been done with Tesla coils, this dude created a thing called myMusicalTesla, and it will blow you away. Especially if you think there is nothing better than Star Wars.

By hooking up different musical sources, including an electric guitar, its creator was able to create something unique. And when you watch the video, you’ll probably regret not thinking about doing it sooner.

The brains behind myMusicalTesla is Max Simmonds, “a EEE undergrad from Plymouth University, during his placement year at NI. Max used LabVIEW and the myRIO to control the switching circuitry to produce a beautiful (and surprisingly loud) musical spark.”
