Happy Pi Day 2017: Three Pi Pies to Celebrate

Happy Pi Day 2017: Three Pi Pies to Celebrate

It’s my favorite geek holiday of the year – Pi Day!

Not because 3.14 is cool (don’t ask me why), but what other holiday can you eat all the pie you want without other people questioning your moves? Or, if they do, you can tell them to recite pi to the nth (n=as high as you want) decimal place.

Pi Day has become so popular you’ve probably got your own traditions by now (how about a party with everyone coming as one pie variation or another?), but since I’m an apple pie fanatic lover, I like looking for apple Pi pie recipes. Let me share three with you. Don’t blame me if you get a hankering for some.

Here are three Apple Pi Pies for your pleasure.

Drunken Apple Pie

They got me at drunken, apple, and pie. Loads of apple with a dash of whiskey and a crust in the shape of Pi. SOLD. Recipe here.

Instead of the symbol, let’s go for the numbers. The person who can recite Pi to the most number of decimals gets the largest slice.

Pie Chart Pi Day Fruit Pie

Not exactly apple pie, but it’s too geeky not to feature. Pie chart. Pi. Heaven!

Oh, and you can change the fruit filling to apple (or your fruit of choice) anyhow. Instructions here.

So what are you doing for Pi Day 2017? Whatever it is, I hope it involves loads of pie.

Want cake instead? Here’s something for you.
