Move Over SNES, the Commodore 64 Mini Is Coming

What was your first gaming console? The answer, of course, depends on several factors, your age probably the main one. A huge number of people went gaga over the SNES Classic Edition, which was launched on the 29th of September – presumably especially those who had an SNES as their first.

For those who have precious memories of the Commodore 64 as their first console, the announcement from Retro Games Limited is the best thing since [insert the *your* best thing – sliced bread is getting old].

Behold the Commodore 64 Mini, or C64 Mini.

“The world’s best selling home computer – reborn!”

The lack of a hyphen (best-selling) notwithstanding, that statement is more than enough to get old school gamers nuts. As it says on the box, it plugs straight into your TV via the HDMI cable that comes with the console. It also comes with games – 64 in all (surprise!).

Here’s the nerdy part.

The C64 Mini, just like its ancestor, can function as a computer. You just need to plug in a keyboard, and you can program your own games!

Now, aren’t you all worked up?

The C64 Mini is “coming soon” – how soon we’re not sure, but keep an eye on the official website.
