Throw Your Greens at This Handmade SNES Micro

…and guess what went into it?

Clay and plastic – oh, and a Raspberry Pi Zero that makes this baby (quite literally) work.

The handmade SNES Micro is the creation of Rated-E Mods, who may be giving Nintendo a run for its money. The brand has announced the NES Mini, but they surely spent tons of time, effort, and money to come up with the final product – not that we’re complaining…

Rated-E Mods, however, went one step smaller; and in this case, one step smaller is one step awesomer.

Nintendo may never create an SNES Micro – we can hope, but can we wait? Here’s where we tip our hats to Rated-E Mods.

Clay. Plastic. Raspberry Pi Zero.

Oh, and bring out your soldering iron (get some solder, of course) and get your circuit boarding skills on.

Check out some of the photos of the making of the SNES Micro.

The final product is the first image you see at the beginning of the post. Yes, it works!

Passion and skill – and maybe a bit of impatience – at their best.

Watch and learn.

Note: You’ll need more than basic skills to pull this one off, so if you don’t have the chops (no shame in that), find a buddy to do the dirty work!
