3 DIY Geek Key Holders That Will Make You Envious
We’re fans of DIY, and there are so many cool things a geek can make out of scraps and all sorts of materials. We even have a special section for DIY kits in our store to make it easy for those who may not have enough time.
In any case, I found three DIY geek key holders that will make you want to copy them – or even up the ante!
First up, an Ethernet loopback connector.
Pretty nifty repurposing, isn’t it?
Here’s one that will get your attention for sure.
This LEGO key holder is full of awesome, and it doesn’t look that hard to make. Additionally, you can imagine whatever scenario you want and put together those LEGO bricks of yours to create your unique key holder. Challenge accepted?
Saving the most difficult DIY geek key holder for last…
Based on the Reddit thread where I found this key holder:
This one is located at the local hackerspace, shackspace. It knows which key is inserted where, as the tiny plug contain a microcontroller with UC so you can locate each key. Further, it will make annoying sounds if a key is gone for too long and can remind you of your pizza being turned into charcoal in the oven (via 3 different timers).
Extra engineering indeed! Check it out on GitHub.
So what do you think? Can you top any of these DIY key holders? Show us your work!
