When Counter-Strike Goes 80s
It’s probably not what you think – that someone made an 80s version of Counter Strike – but this may be much cooler, actually. Especially if you’ve got some 80s lovin’ in you.
Counter Strike has been in the limelight, albeit negatively, in recent times with the lawsuit against Valve. Basically, a player accused Valve of allowing an illegal gambling market. Polygon revealed the details of the lawsuit…
The lawsuit filed on behalf of Connecticut resident Michael John McLeod alleges that Valve and third-party sites (CSGO Diamonds, CSGO Lounge and OPSkins) “knowingly allowed, supported, and/or sponsored illegal gambling by allowing millions of Americans to link their individual Steam accounts to third- party websites.” Through those websites, the suit says, skins for CS:GO, which can be purchased from Valve, “can … easily be traded and used as collateral for bets.”
But, we don’t really want all that negativity. And, in all likelihood, many CSGO players don’t either. Probably, at the end of the day, they just want to play. Period.
If you want to stay negative, no one’s stopping you, but if you want to have fun, check out this video created by some CS players where they sing a-ha‘s Take On Me. If a-ha doesn’t ring a bell, I’m pretty sure the tune will.
What happens in the video is a dude plays the song over his mic and starts singing. The agreement was that no one would kill him.
The fun really begins when both teams find themselves all caught up in the song…who can resist?
Here. Don’t blame me if you end up singing Take On Me all day.
