Description: Digital Content Producer
POSITION DETAILS
The Digital Content Producer will work under the direction of the founders,and is responsible for creating editorial, interactive and multimedia content for Geek Supply Co and it’s sister company. He/she will manage the regular flow of new content on the website, enforce quality standards, and will be a vital member of the team driving growth for Geek Supply Co’s retail business.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Produces digital content that promotes and enhances the overall experience of the site, such as show extensions, photo’s, blogs, video, original content and social media outreach
Brings an array of original ideas and concepts to the digital team in order to help create new content that promotes viewer engagement, builds online audience, drives on-air tune in and supports digital business goals
Contributes to editorial content published on websites (feature articles, blog posts, photo galleries, etc) and ensures content meets the standards and objectives of the brand and overall digital strategy
Helps to adjust online editorial content and production processes as necessary to achieve the online growth and engagement goals.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years producing content for the web
- Demonstrates knowledge of digital trends in media and entertainment, emerging technologies and consumer touch-points
- Must be a creative self-starter and have a strong ability to prioritize, perform and lead in a fast paced, start-up like environment
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to work within established deadlines
- Must possess both strategic and creative sensibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using content management tools for web production
- Strong working knowledge of top social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop
- Comfortable shooting video and working with both on-camera talent and crew
- Knowledge of video editing software such as iMovie, Final Cut, etc. is a plus
- Strong analytical abilities; knowledge of web & social reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Social Guide, Simply Measured, etc
