ICYMI: November 6 Is Officially Stranger Things Day
If you’re a Stranger Things fan down to the very last cell of your body, you probably had a very interesting day yesterday. If you’re not quite there but still hold the Netflix original very close to your heart, then you might just have missed one of the newer geek holidays: Stranger Things Day 2019.
November 6, 1983.
The day and year it all started. The day when Will Byers went missing and the lives of the residents of the town of Hawkins, Indiana were turned upside down.
Many of you might have been pure energy floating in the cosmos back then, but today, you are a living breathing person who can celebrate Stranger Things Day every year. If you missed it this year, there is still the weekend to hold party or something Upside Down-themed. Or simply anything 80s. (Any excuse for the 80s!)
What to do?
It’s totally up to you, but an overnight game of Dungeons and Dragons is one idea. Hold an 80s-themed party and make sure you have The Clash playing in the background. Put up Christmas lights (it’s almost that time of the year anyway).
You can even do the expected: a Stranger Things marathon. (Confession, don’t kill us – we’re not done with the latest season!)
Netflix did release a pretty cool video, which may actually make fans feel nostalgic.
So, from here on out, remember this new geek holiday and go all out next year!
