Meet First Cardboard Vintage Instant Camera – Because It’s Just What We Need

This Kickstarter project has more than doubled its original $15,000 goal with 30 days to go. If this isn’t proof that we need the first cardboard vintage instant camera, then I don’t know what is.

“Hipster” has been brought up more than once in reference to the vintage instant camera called Jollylook, but for things like these, doing away with labels may be more important than usual.

Who cares about labels when you can be transported to the good old days of Polaroid fun? And you can’t deny that the cardboard and vintage look add to the camera’s charm. Add to that the all the manual stuff, and you’re old-school golden.

Its features are simple:

  • A fold out camera for analog snapshots, made entirely from recycled paper and cardboard.
  • No electronics – some paper, a pair of lenses and a cartridge for instant mini photos.
  • Environment friendly – we use less materials than used in the packaging of a regular camera.
  • The camera body, the shutter and aperture are made of thick paper and laminated cardboard.

The Jollylook uses Fujifilm instamax film.

Sure, it’s probably a bad idea to take it out when rain is predicted, or when you’re going to the beach, but when the sun comes out and you go to the farmer’s market, wouldn’t it be cool to take those Instagram-worthy shots and actually hold prints in your hands instead?

30 days to go. Be one of the first to have a Jollylook for only $30.
