Make a Toast to 50 Years of Star Trek With the “Golden Anniversary Beer”
Despite Vulcans (hence Spock; although he has been known to imbibe several times) being teetotalers, alcohol is an integral part of Star Trek culture. Trek Movie reminds us of the greatest drinking moments in Star Trek, with Scotty drinking Tomar the Kelvan under the table, then passing out soon after topping the list. Romulan Ale, Vulcan Port, and Bloodwine are only a few types of alcohol drinks in the franchise.
But, we’re not here to talk about alien alcohol nor the replicated type. We’re talking about the real deal. Real beer. Star Trek beer!
Star Trek Beyond is around the corner (though we are reading sorry a$$ reviews). It’s the 50th anniversary of the franchise, and all sorts of merchandise, events, and what-have-yous are all over the place.
Why not Star Trek beer?
In fact, there’s no better way to celebrate the golden anniversary by making a toast and raising a bottle of “Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles” and “Golden Anniversary Ale: Voyage To The Northeast Quadrant”.
Yup. There’s not one, but two types of commemorative beer made by Shmaltz brewing.
According to Nerdalicious, The Trouble With the Tribbles will be available at “the premier of Star Trek Beyond (IMAX, Embarcadero Marina Park, July 20) and Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center (July 21 – 24). It will also available at the “Star Trek Las Vegas” convention at the Rio Hotel & Casino from August 3 – 7, 2016.”
It will then be available in retail outlets – check which ones here.
Voyage to the Northeast Quadrant, on the other hand, will be released later at “Mission New York” at the Javits Center from September 2 – 4, 2016.
I wish I could get my hands on these! How about you?
