New Lineup of Netflix Animated Shows for Kids Announced
Netflix has totally changed viewing habits of people aged 2 to 92. Truth be told, if left unchecked, Netflix can be a total timesink. And with the announcement of new Netflix animated shows in the pipeline, we’re bound to get even more suckered in.
Earlier this week the network unveiled six all-new Netflix animated shows. According to the release, nearly 60% of Netflix’s global viewers consume kids and family content, hence the special attention being given to animated programming.
The projects go beyond serving up Netflix animated shows in general, though. Vice President of Kids and Family Melissa Cobb says, “We know that there is no one type of family. We embrace all kinds of creators so we can tell unique and diverse stories that resonate with each and every Netflix family. With our slate of global original animated feature films and series, we want to give families more moments to share the laughter, wonder and connection that comes from being immersed in a great story.”
Some of the new titles that have been announced are.
- Kris Pearn’s The Willoughbys (CG)
- Nora Twomey’s My Father’s Dragon (2D)
- Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (stop-motion)
Other titles span cultures and add variety to the collection, including Maya and the Three, My Father’s Dragon, Go! Go! Cory Carson, Kid Cosmic, and Trash Truck.
