The Pico Bellos: Speakers With Soul
We all geek differently, but every geek can agree on one thing: a beautiful set of speakers. Not just the inside, but the outside as well. And this is what the Pico Bellos offer us — speakers with soul.
These are not merely words that sound good. When the makers of the Pico Bellos were crafting their product, they meant every word of “speakers with soul”. From the inside (precision engineering for high-quality sound) to the outside (aesthetics that are definitely not run-of-the-mill), the Pico Bellos will make all sorts of geeks happy.
The speakers are made of wood, much like old school speakers were. Handcrafted and designed with uniqueness in mind, each item is sure to match its user’s personality and is guaranteed to produce sound that will satisfy the audiophile.
The project of Dutch craftsman (who lives in France), the Pico Bellos are superb because of the attention to details:
- The cabinets are made from 30mm thick Finnish birch ply. This thickness of ply plus internal bracing ensure an extremely rigid carcass allowing the driver to perform to its limits giving you a very sweet and clear sounding experience with a cohesion unique to full range drivers.
- The veneers used for these speakers are either European hardwood veneers, SaRaiFo Fineline Veneers – Save the Rain Forest* or sawn veneers which I cut myself from solid timber.
- The corners are mitred and beautifully frame the house purple back and the satin nickel binding posts.
- Weighing in at 6.5kg (14lbs) these are really very solid speakers.
- The 4″ full range Tang Band drivers produce great quality sound.
Say goodbye to boring speakers. Say hello to the Pico Bellos.
