The United States of Emoji Shows You the Most Popular Emoji Used Per State
Who would have thought that the popularity of emoji would skyrocket as it has? From Asia to the United States, people have turned to emoji to talk to each other – sometimes to supplement words, sometimes even as the whole message. I know the latter is the case when I text with my 4-year-old nephew!
If you’re in the United States, then you might want to take a look at the new report that SwiftKey has released, “The United States of Emoji”, which does what it says on the tin.
It’s common knowledge that the keyboard learns words you type and adjusts autostupid autocorrect accordingly, but did you know that it also tracks your emoji use?
That’s what The United States of Emoji report is all about.
Some of the results:
California ranks highly for taxi emoji; also ranks high for sushi, ramen, lemon, sunset and bike.
Hawaii is #1 for surfing, rainbows, waves, pineapples, volcano, which is hardly a surprise. What is a surprise is it’s also #1 for the basketball.
You can see the entire report here, and trust me, you’ll find it fun.
There’s more – with the SwiftKey app update, users have new features like:
My Signature Emoji – the emoji you use more than other people
My Top Emoji – the emoji you use most often
Emoji State – the US state that most reflects your emoji use (obviously for US users only)
