Here’s another one for your Christmas list: the Totoro 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray. It is not yet available, but you will want to secure a copy now.
The beloved animated tale was released on April 16, 1988, with fans spanning generations. This year marks its 30th, and Studio Ghibli and GKIDS has put together a special Totoro 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray set.
The Blu-ray disc will come encased in a hard slipcase and will have hours of features for the die-hard fan. On top of the Blu-ray, the set also offers a CD with the movie’s soundtrack and a book with 40 pages of artwork and essays. The book includes work by New York Times’ film critic A.O. Scott and film writer Lauren Wilford. Of course, messages from producer Toshio Suzuki, Hayao Miyazaki himself, and other notable individuals are included.
The limited edition set won’t be available till December 11, but you can make sure you get it when it comes out by pre-ordering here ($49.97).
