If I remember correctly, Despicable Me was not hyped up as much as most animated movies. After it was released and people got to see it, the story went in a totally different direction.
We loved Gru despite him wanting to become the world’s greatest villain. We adored Agnes. But the minions were the stars of the movie.
And we wanted more of them, so we got them all in Despicable Me 2.
But that wasn’t enough. So we’re going to see the minions in their own movie, The Minions.
In the Minions movie, we’re still going to see Gru as a main character. This time, his services are “required” by an organization who needs his help to stop Scarlet Overkill. Together with her husband – who’s an inventor of course – Herb, she is scheming to take over the world. Of course, Gru and his minions can take care of that.
The movie is slated to be released in the summer of 2015, so it’s quite a long wait, but we have the official Minions trailer now!
