Wear Your Music With Vinylize
Eyewear comes in all shapes and sizes, and now, pretty much all types of materials. Vinylize takes personalization to a different level by using vinyl records to make their eyeglass frames.
A decade or so ago, not many of the younger generation may not have any idea when the words “LP records” were brought up. Or they may simply not have cared. Today, though, vinyl records have made a serious comeback.
Vinylize is doing something different with this fad, translating it into fashion of the literal kind.
They take pressed records and cut eyeglass frames straight out of them.
Believe it or not, this idea has been around for roughly 20 years. The founder, Hungarian-American Zachary Tipton started having problems with his eyesight and he then started his own company, Tipton Eyeworks.
They started out using titanium for their customized rimless glasses but wanting to make frames with more volume, Zack looked around and eventually stumbled upon his father’s old vinyl records. He had his eureka moment, realizing that he could use these to make eyeglass frames.
It all started with a Creedence Clearwater Revival album.
The company has had its ups and downs, but they have rebuilt and now based in Budapest where glasses are made by hand by a team of 16 people. Each item takes SIX weeks to make.
In this day and age of customization and expression of personality, Vinylize is sure to be in high demand. Check it out here.
