Driverless KFC Food Trucks Spotted in China
Social distancing is one of the most-used words of 2020, and it is not only spoken, but it also is reflected in our daily lives. Albeit in different ways. In China, where the COVID-19 pandemic originated, they are quickly applying technological solutions to our forever-changed world – driverless KFC food trucks being one of them.
Sure, it is a private endeavor, but it is indicative of how things are going to be moving forward.
Reports say that the fried chicken chain has deployed 5G autonomous vehicles to provide its crave-worthy food to the denizens of Shanghai. Some of the driverless food trucks were seen outside a metro station, where hungry individuals can place an order using a touchscreen and then pay via QR code. The small door will then open so you can get your order.
Yes, we see a slight problem here – having to touch the screen to place your order. Then again, it should be a habit to clean surfaces before touching them by now.
Finger lickin’ good still, but without the need for face-to-face contact.
What do you think? Are these 5G driverless KFC food trucks a good idea – a solution for the long-term – or is it just a marketing gimmick?
