Defy Gravity With Float: The Levitating Hot Air Balloon Light
If you’ve gone through our shop, you probably already know that we’ve got a thing for lighting and lamps. My personal favorites are the Pixar Lamp and the Dog Storage Lamp.
So you can imagine how delighted I was when I stumbled upon this Kickstarter project that highlights technology and how it can be applied in a really cool way. Meet…
Float: The Levitating Hot Air Balloon Light
The lamp is exactly what it says. It’s a light that looks like a hot air balloon. That in itself is pretty cool, but when you add the levitating factor, the lamp goes to the next level.
Using electromagnets, Float can hover up to 20 mm above its base. The light comes from an LED, which is turned on and off by the conventional switch. Even cooler, you can choose how fast the lamp spins by choosing presets.
