You Don’t Want to Meet This Iron Man Panda in a Dark Alley
Forget Kung Fu Panda (I love you, Po!). Forget the new woman Iron Man.
This Iron Man Panda will kick the crap out of anyone who gets in his way. It’s all cute and cuddly, warm and fuzzy panda feelings until you see all that body armor. Complete with the iconic Iron Man stance.
His official name is “Iron Panda”, but what matters more than the name is his impressive stats. 9 meters (about 30 feet) high and 7 meters (about 23 feet) wide, this is one panda you really wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley.
Not that he’d fit in your regular alley.
Now look closely, and you’ll notice that he isn’t as jolly as you would expect (if you’re a Kung Fu panda fan like me). In fact, his creator artist Bi Heng describes Iron Man Panda as having a sad expression.
He explains the reasoning behind this: highlighting the amazing advances in technology (although not quite at Tony Stark’s level) and man’s wanton destruction of nature.
The artist expressed his desire to see technology and the preservation of nature go hand in hand – which we definitely agree with. Unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way.
In the meantime, we can only count on ourselves to do our part and make a difference as a collective, and support artists like Bi Heng in spreading awareness.
