LEGO Titanic Set Is the 2nd Biggest Ever at 9,000 Pieces
The LEGO Titanic set is here, and it is breaking records. Now the second biggest LEGO set, it has 9,000 bricks.
(If you are wondering what the biggest LEGO set is, it is the LEGO Art World Map, which has more than 11,000 pieces!)
The LEGO Titanic set may not be the biggest in terms of pieces, but it holds the record of being the longest, measuring 4 feet long (1.35 meters). At this length, it could be longer than the builder is taller!
The Titanic — movie notwithstanding — rightly has a permanent place in human history. An example of what man can achieve with his ingenuity and skill. Also a reminder that in spite of our brilliance, nature sometimes has her way of making herself felt. And not always in ways we want.
So, here we are decades down the line when the Titanic set sail and met its tragic end. And LEGO enthusiasts of all ages (AFOLs, we see you) have the chance to exercise their own creativity and brilliance with a new build — the LEGO Titanic set. Not only do you get to spend hours of fun, but you can also grab this moment as a teachable opportunity for your kids.
You can build and set sail on your own Titanic in the early days of November. It is priced at $629.99, but you cannot pre-order till November 1.
