My Skin Track UV Is the World’s Smallest Wearable and May Help Avoid Skin Cancer
We all need sun but the need to avoid skin cancer is greater. With the new nifty gadget called My Skin Track UV, you may be able to do the latter effectively and efficiently.
My Skin Track UV is being touted as the world’s smallest wearable and, coupled with its own app, the gadget may very well help avoid skin cancer.
The premise is simple. It makes you aware of “environmental aggressors” – things that contribute to unhealthy skin, and ultimately skin cancer. Some of these include UV levels, pollen, heat, and humidity. It uses a battery-free sensor and based on your personal data and environmental readings, it offers customized advice and product recommendations.
How does it work?
My Skin Track UV uses an LED to capture UV light and, through NFC, sends the data your phone. The app then evaluates that data to let you know if you’re being exposed to too much UV, based on your personal condition. The algorithm used is based on over 25 publication-backed studies.
The device can be worn in various ways – as a pendant or a clip-on accessory.
