Planet Zoo Is the Ultimate Game for Sim Lovers

Simulation games have gone a long, long way, and they’re getting more awesome by the day. If you’re a sim game enthusiast, then you’re going to be blown away by Frontier Development’s newest sim game: Planet Zoo.

Coming from the house that created Zoo Tycoon and Planet Coaster, the game gives you the chance to create the perfect world for wildlife. Staying true to the spirit of sim games, Planet Zoo gives you god powers over your creation. You create habitats, choose animals, and manage the overall zoo operations.

What makes Planet Zoo stand out, however, is its unpredictability.

According to ScreenRant, who were given the chance to spend 20 minutes with gameplay demo, the game is indeed quite unpredictable for a number of reasons.

For one, the subjects of the simulation – the animals – are alive, meaning the story is unscripted. How things play out depends on how you take care of the animals and how they respond to your input. Obviously, you will have to make adjustments based on how they react.

The animals behave as they would in real life. To make it as realistic as possible, the developers consulted with real-life zoologists. To add to the complexity, each animal is truly unique – each has its own DNA. Sim players will be familiar with the metrics that need to be maintained for each animal. In this case, they are Welfare, Social, Habitat, and Environment. Considering there are more than 50 (many more, apparently) animals in the game, you’re in for countless hours of sim fun.

BUT, it isn’t all about animals. Think about the tycoon sim games where customer satisfaction is of paramount importance. You can achieve this with the tiniest details such as using education boards – the placement of which would affect satisfaction.

The gameplay’s brilliant and takes sim games to a whole new level, and its graphics add to the wow factor.

The game isn’t coming out till November, but you can make sure you get your hands on it as soon as it drops. Pre-order Planet Zoo for $44.99.
