Project Hazel Will Give You Masks That Filters Air and Amplifies Your Voice
Face masks make the world go round. Without one, you are likely to be denied entry at many establishments, and you may even be fined, depending on where you are. “Punishments” notwithstanding, wearing a face mask is a must for all of us, unless we don’t care about the possibility of contracting COVID-19 OR potentially spreading the virus if we’re asymptomatic. At this point, only the extremely obtuse or purposely hardheaded would dismiss the threat of the pandemic.
In a natural progression of events, face masks are the focus of innovation. While we stand by the wearing of face masks when going out in public, we also cannot ignore that it can be inconvenient in terms of comfort. That is why companies like Razer are launching projects that will make more practical face masks that will probably not be going away anytime soon.
Project Hazel was announced at CES 2021, and it holds a lot of promise for those who are particularly inconvenienced by wearing face masks.
The main thing about wearing them is that, while they offer protection – for both the wearer and those them – they can obstruct breathing. I don’t know about you, but climbing a couple of flights of stairs wearing a fabric mask makes me gasp for air like a fish out of water.
With Project Hazel, face masks that filter air will be made available. This not only ensures better quality air but also makes it easier to breath.
Additionally, the masks will have a silicon grip on top, as opposed to the common wire. This will create a seal, which eyeglass wearers will appreciate, as it removes the problem of eyewear fogging due to the breath escaping the mask.
Another issue is that verbal communication can get difficult at times due to the mask muffling the wearer’s voice. Project Hazel deals with this by incorporating technology called Razer Voiceamp. This smart system learns the sound of your voice and then projects it through speakers.
Just as important is the case that comes with the mask, which provides charging and UV sterilization features.
The project is currently only at the conceptual stage, but we won’t be surprised to see these masks in the market.
In the meantime, stay protected with this KN95 mask.
