This Is What Real Fans Can Do: The Empire Strikes Back Uncut [Watch]
There is no doubt about the passion of those who belong to fandoms, and when it comes to the point, fans of Star Wars are some of the most dedicated. If you have any doubts about that, you have to check out this fan-made film titled “The Empire Strikes Back Uncut”.
It’s not just any fan film, mind you. It’s not a few minutes of watching a fan film during your break. You’ll need a whopping 2 hours to watch the film in its entirety because, yes, the people who made “The Empire Strikes Back Uncut” put a lot of effort into recreating the Star Wars classic.
Based on the video description, “The Empire Strikes Back Uncut” project is led by Casey Pugh, “who oversaw 2010’s Emmy-winning Star Wars Uncut, the new film has a wonderful homemade charm, stands as an affectionate tribute to The Empire Strikes Back, and is a testament to the talent, imagination, and dedication of Star Wars fans.”
With more than 1,500 submissions – 480 of them actually used in the final “product” – this fan film is nothing less than amazing. Since most of the fans didn’t have the budget Lucas Films has, the scenes are may be slightly lacking in effects, but they did a great job making do with what they have.
How about a C3PO played by a guy in his underwear and sprayed with gold paint? How resourceful is that?
