Fantasy and sci-fi bring us joy because of its characters, complex plots, and dragons (well, okay, not all). But more than that, some stories make our mouths water and our imaginations wonder at how their food and drink taste. Video games (even those without any real plot) are not exempt.

Understandably, writers and foodies are quick to obtain rights to creating official cookbooks to accompany popular franchises. A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook , authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Sariann Lehrer, who first started an awesome fan blog featuring their take on food from the show and books.

Now, the same author (Cassel) is back. This time with The World of Warcraft Official Cookbook.

With the movie coming out, the cookbook’s October 2016 release is perfect timing, though I am sure this was all planned.

But we’re not complaining! After all, I am sure you’ve wondered what the flavor of Beer Basted Boar Ribs is like while raiding. But that’s not all there is to the cookbook. Other recipes – food and drink – included are:

  • Dirge’s Kickin’ Chimaerok Chops
  • Mulgore Spice Bread
  • Greatfather’s Winter Ale
  • Junglevine Wine
  • Winter Veil Egg Nog

The next time you play with your friends or have a nerd party, forget pizza. Sure, you’ll have to exert some effort – more than dialing or ordering online – but you’ll be the talk of every nerd get-together after that.

Oh, and another thing…practice how to say “NO” strongly because you might become the designated cook at every party.

The World of Warcraft Official Cookbook is available for pre-order on Amazon. The list price is $35, but if you pre-order, you’ll save 40% and pay only $21.

P.S. Get ready to go on a hunt for cans of haggis.
