DC Characters Go Back to The Saturday Evening Post Era

You always find gems on deviantART, and this set of posters by artist Ruiz Burgos (AKA OnlyMilo) is a treat for DC fans and those who appreciate the early era of The Saturday Evening Post.

The artist says that this series is a tribute to the covers of The Saturday Evening Post, and what a tribute it is!

Some say he’s the most boring superhero ever, but how can one not look up to Clark Kent/Superman? And if you think he’s the epitome of good, read Injustice. Although it’s a different story arc, it does show you a different side to Superman.

Ah, the craziest, quirkiest lovers of all time. Nothing more needs to be said.

In my opinion, the only villainess that can match Harley Quinn’s madness is Poison Ivy. While the drawing is superb, can you imagine this being published back in the day???

Wonder Woman is a heroine that can match anyone anytime, and I love how this cover is done – bike, little girl, and all. And her face – I think that shows her soft side, doesn’t it?

And, saving the best for last (although best is relative, of course), we have Zatanna. We all know just how powerful this woman is, with her magic and all. I recently just got her character in the game Injustice: Gods Among Us, and she does kick butt! If you see a resemblance to Katy Perry, you’re not off the mark.

The only one missing is Batman, which I can’t figure out why; I’d also love to see Iron Man, but then he’s from a totally different family.
