“Million Dollars, But…” Card Game Hits Kickstarter Goal in TWO Minutes
Just like that.
While a sad majority of Kickstarter projects struggle to death to hit their goals, this new card game by Rooster Teeth hit its goal before you can even begin to explain what it is.
Called “Million Dollars, But… The Game”, the Kickstarter project was based on an already existing YouTube series of the same name. The idea is simple: ”
The idea is this: “What would you do to earn a million dollars? Gavin, Burnie and Barbara would do anything to get rich. Seriously. Anything.“
What can go wrong?
Either nothing or everything…but whichever it is, the show has almost 9 million subscribers. A testament that the hosts are doing something right.
Do the math. Now it’s not so surprising they hit their Kickstarter goal of $10,000 within two minutes, is it?
So, what’s “Million Dollars, But… The Game” all about?
The premise is the same, but now, you and your friends can play it whenever you want, wherever you want. It is reminiscent of Cards Against Humanity, actually.
By the looks of it, “Million Dollars, But… The Game” is set to become of the most popular card games of our time. It tests your boundaries and imagination, which people seem to like. And, well, when you’re so drunk you don’t even remember your name…
In order to play the game, you do have to be able to think – even if not rationally. The gameplay involves players creating scenarios, presenting them to the judge, and then further complicating the scenarios by adding details.
Here’s an example from the Kickstarter page.
Million Dollars, But… The Game (MDB) is a game that puts your morals and imagination to the test, posing the question, “What would you do for a million dollars?” Players create scenarios by combining a Trigger and a Rule card to showcase what they would or wouldn’t do for a big hunk of cash. (For example, A Million Dollars, But… Every time you see a store having a sale, you poop your pants a little bit.)
The best part of the game occurs when everyone debates the scenarios that have been presented to the judge. “Does it include online store sales or just in-person sales?” “How much poop are we talking: a rabbit pellet or an uncomfortable amount?”
